Melissa is a former middle school teacher turned Project Manager at an HR technology implementation and consulting company. She used her teaching (and non-profit) experience to qualify for the PMP (after surviving 2 audits by PMI). Since October, she has been coaching career pivoters, transitioning teachers, and anyone looking to use non-traditional experience to apply for the PMP. Her PM resume template has been downloaded more than 2500 times. She wrote a guide on the PMP application process to help others use non-traditional experience to qualify, which has already helped more than 300 people apply for the PMP. She is an instructor and co-creator of the PM Accelerator Program through BetterCareer, helping career changers pivot into project management. She lives in Oregon with her 5 kids and husband, and runs races in her spare time.
